About the Event
We are delighted to be continuing our partnership with the Royal Northen College of Music to provide emerging talent with the chance to conduct and play alongside our professional players whilst bringing high-quality performances to North Wales. This year we are bringing not one, but TWO concerts packed with iconic melodies and quintessential classics to Wrexham and St Asaph. Travel through the timeline of trailblazing composers performed by our all-inclusive vocal ensemble NEW Voices, our virtuosic orchestra NEW Sinfonia conducted by some the RNCM’s most promising conductors.
Our journey begins in the present day with Jonathan Guy’s simmering fast moving Scherzo which blends Welsh folk with contemporary textures to create a fresh invigorating soundscape. NEW Voices joins our players as we take you deep into the romantic world of the Belle Epoch with Gabriel Faure’s Cantique de Jean Racine and Jules Massenet’s Meditation (from Thais).
