NEW Sinfonia are thrilled to once again take up their position as Orchestra in Residence for the 2018 North Wales International Music Festival, with their most ambitious and exciting programme yet.
Highlights for the festival include performing Elgar’s brooding Cello Concerto in E minor with renowned international soloist Raphael Wallfisch, in a concert that also features the bustling Three Dance Episodes from On the Town by Leonard Bernstein.
Through our continuing partnership with Welsh National Opera and NWIMF we will be performing the World Premiere of Rebecca Dale’s Materna Requiem with the Festival Community Chorus. If last years performance was anything to go by this concert is going to be spectacular.
The full programme for the 2018 festival will be announced at the Launch Concert on Wednesday 20th June 2018 in St Asaph Cathedral. To be kept right up to date with all the latest news about these concerts sign up to our mailing list or check back hear soon.
NEW Sinfonia are excited to announce that Jonathan Guy has been awarded a grant by the PRS Foundation to write and record a collaborative album with Tim Joy of Golden Fable. This album follows on from the fantastic performance by Golden Fable and NEW Sinfonia together in the NEW Sounds Collective series last year. More information to follow soon!
We thought now would be a good time to give those who weren’t at the performances an opportunity to see what the project was all about. Individual audio tracks from both performances will be available soon via the media player on the website.
This project was supported by the Arts Council of Wales.
