NEW Sinfonia @ NWIMF 2018
Festival Community Chorus with Welsh Natinal Opera soloists and NEW Sinfonia
Join NEW Sinfonia in St Asaph Cathedral as we take up our position as Orchestra in Residence at the North Wales International Music Festival (NWIMF) for 2018.
After the success of last years magnificent Magnificat Journey, NEW Sinfonia are once again partnering with Welsh National Opera and the NWIMF to bring you a mesmerising concert filled with choral music and a few other treats too.
The programme features excerpts from Mozart’s Requiem and the Pie Jesu by Duruflé. This will be followed by a rare performance of John Cage’s 4’33”, a moment of silent reflection that will be interrupted by the serene Spiegel im Spiegel by Arvo Pärt.
The climax of the concert will be the World Premiere of Materna Requiem by the award-winning British composer Rebecca Dale. Rebecca has composed numerous works for both the concert platform and the silver screen and is signed to Decca Records.
