NEW Sinfonia @ NWIMF 2018

A Reflection on the Centenary of the End of the Great War

Join NEW Sinfonia in St Asaph Cathedral as we take up our position as Orchestra in Residence at the North Wales International Music Festival (NWIMF) for 2018.

For the final instalment of our 2018 residency NEW Sinfonia will perform alongside Jonathan Pryce, Trelawnyd Male Voice Choir, Bro Glyndŵr Male Voice Choir and Côr Cytgan Clwyd in a special concert marking the Centenary of the End of the Great War.

Amongst a selection of wartime songs and pieces by composers Karl Jenkins and Paul Mealor, a Brass Quintet from NEW Sinfonia will perform a moving selection of pieces by composers such as Barber and Mathias. Wartime poems read by actor Jonathan Pryce will be interspersed between the music, making for a suitably poignant experience.
